What is work-based learning?
In simple terms, it is learning about work, at work. Work-based learning happens through several different structures, for example:
Awareness
Workplace tours, Guest Speakers, Career Fairs, Field Trips, and Community Involvement
Exploration
Job Shadowing, Career Research, Interest Assessment, Extended Learning, and Structured Field Trips
Preparation
Internships, Service Learning, Group Projects, Student Run Enterprise, and Supported Employment
Training
Apprenticeship, Paid Internships, On-the-Job Training, and Industry Recognized Credential
